One Page Website – from £500
Sometimes, all you need is a single page to pay out the key points of your business. This is also an excellent and cost effective way to get your online presence established and to begin building authority with Google and other search engines.
Multi-page Site – from £950
A typical website contains a collection of pages linked by a menu which delivers information to users, rather like an online brochure. Information about your products and services, terms of business, history, approach, what makes you different, and how customers can find you or get in touch.
More Complex Site from £1500
As websites become more complicated – and therefore take longer to design, build and test properly – when they go beyond simply delivering information and start to allow users to interact. Examples include online shopping, bookings, directory listings, complex forms, and content in multiple langauges.
Other Costs to Budget For…
In addition to the design and development costs – there are a couple of other items of expenditure you will need to consider.
If you don’t already own a web domain ( thats the address that looks like www.mywebsite.com ) you’ll need to buy one – budget £8 – £20 per year. If you already have one – we can use that.
I prefer to host the websites we build in order to properly support and protect those sites. Curated hosting starts at £165 per year including an SSL certificate (in most cases). This provides regular software updates, enhanced security, daily backups with 30 day rolling archive and disaster recovery. If you have a preferred host company, thats fine we can work with most major host companies – but without the support package.
You may need photography – great images make great websites. Depending on the nature of your business you may be able to use library images – budget around £10 per image.
Finally, you might consider setting a budget for content updates once your site is live. For occasional updates we currently charge £46 per hour. If you anticipate regular content updates and additions and prefer not to do that inhouse we can provide a maintenance plan on a monthly retainer by agreement.
